What is OLM File?


OLM stands for Outlook for Mac File. The file with .olm extension contains a database of emails, calendars, contacts, notes, tasks, etc. It is a data file of Mac Outlook email client. An individual OLM file contains all Outlook folders of end users and stores messages with their associated data archived by the program connected to Exchange Server.

This file comes in existence with Outlook 2011 for Mac. OLM files are only used by Mac Outlook and can’t be opened on any other application.

OLM files are used only by Outlook Mac and can’t be accessed by Windows version of Outlook. However using multiple applications, OLM files can be opened. These applications are OLM to PST Converter, Microsoft Outlook 365, etc.
